Frog Eyes : Paul's Tomb : A Triumph

A few years ago, I was lucky enough to accompany my friends Whalebones on a tour down the West Coast. Frog Eyes were on this trip also. They blew my mind and made me cry every night, and were forever cemented as one of my all time favorites. They have a new record out on Dead Oceans, Paul's Tomb : A Triumph, and of course it rules. I could go on, but you should just have a listen and decide for yourself. They're out on tour, go see them, buy a record or a shirt and help them along the road. It should also be noted that Carey's blog, Clouds of Evil, is one of the best things on the internetzzz.

I mean seriously. Listen to A Flower In A Glove. The shreds, the heart!

One Foot In The Grave

Long ago, our very own James Bertram and Sam Jayne, who were in the band Lync at the time, played on a Beck record. "One Foot In The Grave" was recorded in 1994 at Dub Narcotic in Olympia. Shows were played, tours were made. It existed on K Records for 10 years or so, went out of print, then a few months ago it was reissued on Beck's label, Illiad. There are tons of unreleased tracks. Double LP on 180 gram vinyl. You should check it out at your local independent record store. Or here.
